David Bowie's portrait hangs inside of Neues Ufer, the cafe next to the apartment that he shared with Iggy Pop in Schoneberg, Berlin. Bowie held his 30th Birthday party in here and the pair of them would be daily visitors. The cafe retains all of its character. Set in a traditional working class area of town popular with Turkish immigrants both Bowie and Iggy loved the area and lived here for three years.

The image was first published in a photo essay on Maptia; 'Bowie & Berlin'.
