Sami Reindeer Herder by Barbara Parkins
Professionally printed on C-Type Fuji Flex
Abisko, Northern Sweden
Barbara describes her mesmerising image in her own words: "In northern Sweden, Sami Reindeer herders and their families live and tend to their reindeers. I went to spend some time in the area near Abisko and was taken out into this beautiful winterland."
Originally hunters and gatherers, the Sami turned to herding of domesticated reindeer in the 17th century. Reindeer naturally move across huge tracks of land to graze, and the Sami historically lived following the herds.
All sizes include a 1 inch white border.
