We are extremely excited to announce that we have been awarded “Best Female Photographer Promotion Platform 2019” in the CV Magazine Media Innovator Awards, 2019.
Of the Awards themselves, CV Magazine said: “With constant shifts within the industry, it is vital that firms stay ahead of the curve and adapt to the trials and tribulations of the industry. Through this awards programme, we recognise innovation at its finest whilst rewarding those who influence, engage and endeavour to provide the very best services. Congratulations to all our winners and best of luck for the future.”
As for 100Prints, the decision to make the move to support only female photographers was a difficult one as we represented some true talent as the “old” 100Prints and many hours of blood, sweat and tears had gone into the old format site. However, since the re-brand and bringing onboard our brilliant women artists, we really haven’t looked back! There’s some amazing female talent out there and the support of these lovely ladies, their friends and family, and our own loyal fan base has been heart-warming, to say the least.
According to The British Journal of Photography’s Female In Focus Guide, which highlights gender disparity in the industry, 80% of photography graduates are women, while only 15% of professional photographers and only 1 in 9 photography award winners are women.
We’ll be exploring this imbalance more in the future, but for now we are just very excited to congratulate and thank all our amazing contributors and are really looking forward to the future of 100Prints.
